- Holland Cotter in the 5 March issue of the New York Times has an important article on “The Collective Conscious” citing art collectives as a foil to the market-driven art which is moving the art world.
- New York Times for 5 March issue also has a wonderful list of libraries in Paris in the Travel Section. Museums are featured in a separate section of the 29 March issue of the New York Times.
- Art Papers for November-December 2005 included an article about “Reading Material” in which they asked to find out what artists and curators are reading and discussing now, and to reframe the debate between whether artists are literate, theory no longer mattered, and backlash against text. Included in the research were answers by Andrea Bowers, Luca Buvoli, Stuart Hordner, Laura Lark and Mathilde ter Heijne.
- Art in America for February 2006 featured an article by Sylvan Barnet and William Burto who wrote an article about posing for a portrait in Hiroshi Sugimoto’s studio. This time the tables were turned–and two retired English literature professors, collectors of Japanese art for some 40 years, give new insights about being the subject of a photograph.
- Art in America for April 2006 features an article by Jill Johnson on “George Brecht, the Philosopher of Fluxus” and a eulogy to Nam June Paik by John Hanhardt.
- Artlines is a newly revamped, full-color journal produced by the Queensland Art Gallery in Australia. Each issue is dedicated to a theme: one for Contemporary Art for Contemporary Kids and another about the Moving Image in Contemorary Art. Includes reviews of print, video, dvds, installations, etc. A stunning contribution. - Inter Art Actuel for Spring 2006 features Art and Context, with articles on Joan Brossa, Krakov in Quebec, article by Hervé Fischer and Jan Swidzinski, Bruce Barber writes about cultural intervention in the public sphere, as well as Jacques Donguy’s review of DADA at the Centre Pompidou. Language is French, but this is an important journal out of Quebec.
- Smithsonian for March 2006 featured an article by Arthur Lubow entitled “Edvard Munch: Beyond the Scream.”
- Art Journal (CAA publication) for Winter 2005 features Reconciliations: New Views and Re-views with articles about Giacometti, P.T. Reddy and Modern Art in India, Jessica Stockholder dialoguing with Joe Scanlan; Chris Hanson with Hendrika Sonnenberg;; an artist portfolio of Manuela Filiaci, a Forum on Latin American Art Criticism, as well as many reviews.
