Volume 30, No. 4, Dec 2007
From The Editor
You haven’t heard from me in a while, since I have been reconnoitering. Since we just passed the 30th anniversary of the birth of Umbrella, I felt I should send you all a big Birthday Card—images sent in from subscribers—and news that subscriptions are due for 2008. $15.00 for individuals and $20.00 for institutions are now due through the month of February. Just renew online or send a check to Umbrella, P.O. Box 3640, Santa Monica, CA 90408. Your subscription will be locked if you do not renew before the end of February, which is a leap year.
Meanwhile, winter has played tricks on all of us—from cold winter temperatures in Southern California as well as much more rain than last year, to a big snowstorm in Toronto as I write this, as well as wintry tricks for the mid-west and east coast of the U.S.
Here in the US, we are in the midst of a political campaign that will change the direction of the U.S. for many years. It is an important election and I ask all of you who are eligible to vote on Super Tuesday 5 February 2008 at all costs. Your own destiny is involved in this vote.
And I present you with images to celebrate our 30th Year—it’s hard to believe, but it’s true. I am preparing the first issue of 2008—with reviews, news, and insights, of course, but bear with me. It will be appear soon.
So, without further ado, I wish you a great 2008—in our 31st year!
